myoActivation is very different from simply dry needling trigger points; and unlike trigger point injections there is no medication injected.
The most important difference is the process used to assess your movement and soft tissues in order to determine where to treat.
With IMS, dry needling and trigger point injections, treatment is focused on the area where you feel the pain.
However, pain rarely originates from where it is sensed.
The systematic approach of myoActivation, (including your detailed personal history of tissue injury), aims to uncover the true origin of your pain and/or movement dysfunction.
As such, treatment is often occurring in areas that you may not associate with playing a role in your symptoms but it’s all connected!
For example: In treating back pain we often look to the muscles of the abdominal wall, legs and pelvis, as well as any scars from previous surgeries. Knee pain is often resolved by treating dysfunction in the muscles and soft tissues that control our ankle and pelvic movement.

Pain is a very subjective experience, and many people have some uneasiness when it comes to needles. That said, we work with you to make the experience as comfortable and reassuring as possible.
Most patients are often surprised that the treatment is not as uncomfortable as they had imagined, and that the benefit of having treatment far outweighs any discomfort experienced during treatment.
